Head of Data Department
Lead Pulsetto’s data function: build scalable analytics, own data governance, and empower every team with clear insights; hybrid, impact-driven, for a healthier future.
About Pulsetto
Pulsetto is one of the fastest-growing wellness tech companies - in 2025 we were officially recognised by Deloitte as the #1 Company to Watch in the Technology Fast 50 CE program.
You may have also seen us on Netflix’s “Don’t Die”, our founder’s Shark Tank pitch 🦈, or even heard that Cristiano Ronaldo and top NBA players use Pulsetto for recovery.
Despite the spotlight, we’re a humble team, moving fast, iterating even faster, and building the future of nervous system wellness. And now we’re expanding our team to power the next stage of global growth.
About the Role & Company Context
Pulsetto is a fast-growing, DTC wellness-tech company selling the hardware and operating across e-commerce, a subscription model, and a companion app. As operational complexity increases, we're looking for a Head of Data to become the analytical backbone of the company, enabling faster and more confident decisions across departments.
This is a hybrid role leading a small, agile data team (1–3 people) — a setup where the Head of Data stays close to the data day-to-day (roughly 50% hands-on) while also directing the team's priorities and growth. You'll work across a wide range of stakeholders — marketing, product, finance, and operations — each with different, sometimes competing, data needs, and you'll be the one who decides what gets prioritized and why.
Core Responsibilities
Data ownership & architecture
Own end-to-end data architecture and infrastructure strategy for the company
Lead ingestion, integration and preparation of data from all company sources (e-commerce, marketing/ads platforms, CRM, app/product, finance, ops)
Establish and monitor data quality standards and governance across systems
Build and maintain company-wide reporting and dashboards (executive + departmental)
Ensure data integrity and a single source of truth across systems
Convert raw data into actionable insights across marketing, sales, product, finance and operations
Own the product analytics agenda — define product metrics, run A/B testing, and embed data into the product development cycle
Team leadership & stakeholder management
Lead, mentor and grow a small data team — setting clear priorities, supporting career development, and ensuring fast, high-quality delivery
Act as the main point of contact for data needs across marketing, product, finance and operations, balancing and prioritizing competing requests
Bring structure and prioritization discipline to a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment
Must-Have Requirements
5+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or BI, including proven ownership of a data function or team
Hands-on experience designing data architecture and pipelines (ETL/ELT) across multiple, disparate sources; experience with dbt
Strong SQL and experience with a modern cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar)
Experience with BI/visualization tools (LightDash, Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
Experience with e-commerce and marketing data (Shopify, Meta/Google Ads, GA4, CRM)
Product analytics experience — defining product metrics, running A/B tests, and understanding the role of data in the product development cycle
Strong communication and prioritization skills — able to navigate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders across marketing, product, finance and operations
Fluent English
Nice-to-Have
People leadership experience (hiring, mentoring, managing a small team)
Experience in DTC/e-commerce, subscription, or health & wellness/consumer tech
Python or similar for data processing/automation
Experience scaling a data function in a startup/scale-up
